Requirements

COD Course Code: BCOT-010 (16.0 Units​)

• Minimum age to enter the BCOT Academy is 18

• Must be an admitted and registered College of the Desert student

• Be free of any felony convictions or legal mandates that restrict or prohibit employment as a Basic Corrections Officer

• All prospective students are required to attend the BCOT Information Session

• Possess a valid California driver’s license

• Students should be in great physical condition

• Self-sponsored students must set up an appointment with Basic Corrections Staff and the PSA Director or Staff (preferably before enrolling)
