Module III Regular Basic Course Modular Format
COD Course Code:
BPOT-001 7.0 Units
Requirements:
- Minimum age to enter the BPOT Academy is 18
- Must be an admitted and registered College of the Desert student
- Student must possess a DOJ Firearms Clearance Letter prior to the first day of the
academy
- Be free of any felony convictions or legal mandates that restrict or prohibit employment
as a law enforcement officer or the possession of a firearm
- All prospective students are strongly encouraged to attend the Modular Academy Information
Session
- Possess a valid California driver’s license
- All students must complete a health questionnaire, and if necessary, obtain a medical
clearance
- Students should be in good physical condition
- Students must attain a passing grade for advancement to Module II
Note:
Module III Testing:
Since the Fall semester of 2017, Module III POST constructed Learning Domain tests
have transitioned into two comprehensive examinations (LD 34 First Aid/CPR and End
of Course). In addition, Arrest methods/Defensive Tactics skills testing and Firearms
skills testing must be successfully completed.

Requirements:
- Minimum age to enter the BPOT Academy is 18
- Must be an admitted and registered College of the Desert student
- Student must possess a DOJ Firearms Clearance Letter prior to the first day of the
academy (Live scan results)
- Be free of any felony convictions or legal mandates that restrict or prohibit employment
as a law enforcement officer or the possession of a firearm
- All prospective students are strongly encouraged to attend the Modular Academy Information
Session
- Possess a valid California driver’s license
- All students must complete a health questionnaire, and if necessary, obtain a medical

- Module II students must have passed the POST Module III End of Course Proficiency
