plEDGE
College of the Desert is pleased to offer students the opportunity to take the plEDGE!
The plEDGE Program provides 2024 high school graduates (or equivalent) from the Coachella
Valley* with two full years of free tuition and fees at College of the Desert!
Participating students must complete the following requirements:
- Complete the EDGE Summer Bridge Program.
- Students with a GPA of 3.2 or above have the option of completing a summer course
instead of enrolling in the EDGE summer courses.
- .Full-time enrollment during the Fall and Spring semesters
- Students with disabilities may be eligible to take fewer than 12 units with DSPS counselor
approval.
- Students who are currently employed full-time may be exempt from being enrolled in
12 units.
- Students who are pursuing a certificate may be exempt from being enrolled in 12 units
based on program of study.
- Maintain good academic standing (GPA 2.0+).
- Participate in 10 hours of community service, mentoring, or internships.
- Check-in with an Outreach Specialist before the end of their first semester.
- Attend a career pathway workshop at the COD Career and Workforce Solutions Center.
- Submit a FAFSA or CA Dream Act application that is received by the COD Financial Aid
Office and have a completed Financial Aid File by December 16, 2024. Failure to meet
this requirement will result in a hold being placed on the student's account, as well
as the student being financially responsible for their tuition and fees.
- 2023 plEDGE students must submit a FAFSA or CA Dream Act application that is received

tuition and fees.

Please Note:
"Coachella Valley" refers to areas served by one of the following school districts
- Coachella Valley Unified, Desert Sands Unified, Desert Center Unified, or Palm Springs
Unified - for at least 1 year and 1 day. Students may have to complete a residency
application with Admissions & Records to determine residency.
