Applications and Information Systems
The Applications & Information Systems (AIS) program at College of the Desert offers an Associate Degree in Applications & Information Systems. It also offers certificates for Office Professionals categorized as Business Information Worker (BIW). Start with the first two and take them in order (Office Professional then Office Manager) then add any specialty of interest (Legal Office, Marketing Office, Medical Office, and Remote Worker). You will then only need minimal courses to earn the associate degree. In other words, you have the opportunity to earn multiple certificates on the way to your ultimate goal of an Associate Degree in AIS!
The AIS program takes advantage of a cross disciplinary integration of information systems with other fields of high demand in the Coachella Valley, such as accounting, business, hospitality, and digital design. The program is currently expanding to satisfy demand of additional industries in the area. AIS is unique as it gives you the ability to merge your passion with your career!
