To remain in good academic standing, College of the Desert students are expected to maintain a 2.0 grade point average (GPA) and complete at least 50% of the courses they have attempted. Students who fall below these standards are subject to academic and/or progress probation. Students who remain on probation for more than two (2) consecutive semesters are subject to disqualification from attending COD.
As a result of being on probation or disqualification for two (2) consecutive semesters, students lose their priority enrollment status. The loss of priority registration will remain in effect until you are no longer on probation; records must reflect a cumulative GPA of 2.0, which means you are in Good Standing.
Students who have two (2) consecutive terms (Fall/Spring semesters) on academic and/or progress probation will be made ineligible for the California College Promise Grant (CCPG).
